Kelly Osbourne says 'Latino' controversy 'worst thing she's ever done'

Kelly Osbourne is speaking out about a resurfaced clip of her in which she made a controversial remark about Latino people.

The daughter of music star Ozzy Osbourne has addressed the viral clip, which is being used in a trend on social media. When she appeared on the TV show The View in 2015, Kelly made a comment relating to Donald Trump and his stance on immigration and her quick U-turn on her comments, and it did not go down well, with an embarrassed Kelly, trying to do a U-turn while in the studio.

What did Kelly Osbourne say about Latino people?

In the clip which has now become something of a meme, she says: “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?” before the camera panned to her, and she realized what she had said on live television.

She then says quickly: “In the sense that … You know what I mean? I didn’t mean it like that. Come on!”

She later apologized for her words in a Facebook post. She penned she had “wholeheartedly f***** up” and what she said had been a “poor choice of words.”

“I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case, I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT,” she wrote. “I whole-hearted fucked up today. I don’t want to bullshit anyone with lame excuses. Although I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words.

“I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson.”

The celebrity added: “By the way I clean my own f****** toilets.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, published January 18, the 39-year-old said it was the “most cringe moment.”

“Oh my God, I died. It hurt a lot of people, and that to me, is by far makes it the worst thing I’ve ever done,” she said. “I realized that I’m not great on live TV and that words are so powerful. And to be labeled as something you’re not is really difficult. But it happened. There’s nothing I can do.

“This whole country is built on immigrants, and if you stop people from coming into this country who do the jobs that make this country exist and thrive and flourish, who’s going to do all the jobs that you don’t want to do yourself?” she said. “It came out so wrong.”

She added she was “still laughing” at the trend, even if she is “the butt of the joke. “It turns something so ugly into something funny …. but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hate myself a little bit more each time I see it.”
